Meunerie party

Volunteers at the Fête de la Meunerie, in Rives-d’Autise (Vendée), are working hard to ensure the success of the new edition. On Saturday May 27, Sunday May 28 and Monday May 29, 2023, the seven-hectare site of Le Vignaud, its island and mill, will be back in the heart of the 1920s.

Since 1977, the Fête de la Meunerie has been held every two years on the banks of the Autise during the Whitsun weekend. Around the water mill, the festival plunges us into a 1920s Vendéen village with its old trades. It brings the rural environment to life through its roots, and brings together all generations.

We’re staying true to the spirit that drives the whole troupe, but while the 700 volunteers will be in costume, we’ll have a few new touches. Concerts and songs will be the order of the day, and entertainment, skits, demonstrations of skills and exhibitions will dot the two days of Sunday and Monday. There will be plenty of opportunity for interaction with the public, and all generations will come together to enjoy a great time around our magnificent water mill, which will also be open to visitors. We also offer on-site catering, including our famous “mogette roasts”, which are always a big hit with visitors.
